Kid Comedy

My kids love to sing a song called "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam." Whenever you sing the word "sunbeam" you are supposed to stand up. Well, my kids love to jump instead. Here's an adorable video of Megaman trying to do what all the big kids are doing. I apologize in advance for my atrocious singing!

Here's video of the battle between hunger and fatigue after church.

And in this battle, fatigue apparently won!

In Princess' kindergarten class, they were going around the room and saying what each child wants to be when they grow up. When it got to Princess, she said, "Oh, I'm not going to grow up. I'm going to stay at home with my mom forever." She held to it even after much persuasion from her teacher. Awwwww. :)

Catching Up.........

So October usually means birthdays and Halloween. This October though, I also learned the worst word in the English language. LICE!!!! Eeewwwwww! My poor two girls had some guests take up shop in their hair. So October also meant Honey Bunch got her first haircut. I would not wish lice on my worst enemy. Say your prayers this is our last visit.
This post is meant to catch up on all our October goings on. Enjoy!
Doctor and Princess both celebrated birthdays. Grandpa Greg, Grandma Patti and Great-Grandma Isobel came to help celebrate. Thanks guys, we had such a great time with you! We also had 12 princesses come to the ball. Fun, fun.

We went to the farm for a hayride and pumpkin picking. Megaman loved the horses.

Then, as is our tradition, we carved pumpkins for Family Home Evening last Monday. The kids design their jack-o-lantern and then Dad carves them. Our kids are pretty creative. I love that Princess drew eyelashes and freckles on hers.

Doctor had to work on Halloween so we missed him terribly. We did have fun, though. We went to two trunk-or-treats, two carnivals, and went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Needless to say we have way too much candy at our house. We had a Snake Eyes Ninja, Mulan, Purple Tinkerbell Fairy, and an elephant.

Kid Comedy

I'm sorry that I've been such a blog slacker! We've been super busy/sick. Hopefully it will be awhile before we are stricken with the next bug. Anyways, be on the look out for Princess' birthday blog and a super cute video of Megaman coming soon.
Back to the kid comedy. In the area where we live we are taken over every fall by a nasty little insect called the "Japanese Warrior Beetle." (It looks like an orange lady bug.) When Dude came in the house today one flew in with him. He stomped on it then picked it up to throw away. As he was taking it to the trash I overheard him say, "You don't look like much of a warrior anymore! How'd ya like that little warrior bug!" Too funny.

Princess Hair

Tuesday was school picture day. Princess told me that she wanted hair like the girls on the Diamond Castle Barbie movie. Of course Honey Bunch wanted the same. I did my best. Poor Princess' hair is super thick and straight. By the time we got down stairs to take the picture it had already straightened out quite a bit even though I sprayed the heck out of it. Anyways, here's my cute girls and their princess hair.

Honey Bunch Goes To School

I've been a blog slacker lately, so this post has been a couple weeks in the making. My darling Honey Bunch started preschool on September 2. Isn't she so cute? I'm amazed at how quickly she became a "big girl." She was so excited to go that she wore her backpack everyday for 2 weeks before school actually started.

Oh, and yes, her shoes are on the wrong feet. Pick your battles, people! :)

First Days

Yesterday was also the first day of school for Princess and Dude. Princess was so ready for Kindergarten. Her teacher told me after school that Princess made sure to let her know that she already knows how to do addition. :)
Dude wasn't as excited about school which is pretty out of character for him. His 1st day of 2nd grade ended well after a rocky start and he was anxious to get back this morning.

Happy Anniversary to Us

Yesterday was our 9th Anniversary. Crazy how time flies. Unfortunately, Doctor is in Buffalo, NY so we celebrated apart. He sent me this beautiful bouquet of roses. The white one represents our marriage, the pink ones represent our children, and there is one red rose for each year of marriage. Isn't he awesome? Happy Anniversary, babe. I miss you.

Look what I did!

Doctor is doing an out rotation so I was horrified when Dude announced that he had a flat tire on his bike. But, to my amazement, I changed a bike tire! Hooray for me. :)

Football!!

Dude had his first flag football game this Saturday. He loves playing, but gets intimidated during the games. He really enjoys the drills and practice, but is shy during the actual games. I told him that during the next game I'll pay him a dollar for every flag he takes off the person holding the ball. Hopefully that will motivate him to get involved. :) Dude is in an orange jersey with black shorts.

First haircut and white shirt pics

Megaman is now 15 months, but since life has been so crazy, we just recently took his birthday pictures in Doctor's white shirt. He's such a character and we had a hard time getting him to hold still long enough to snap a picture. I'm including a picture of the back of his head for a "before" picture since we gave him his 1st haircut after taking these pictures.

This picture sums up the experience.
He wasn't thrilled about taking an "after" photo either, so here's the best we got.
