Jell-o?

This is for my Aunt Trixie who has suggested a book of Honey Bunch sayings. Yesterday morning HB asked me if she could put jell-o in her hair. I told her that jell-o is for eating. She was really distraught and brought me a bottle of hair gel. Then I had to explain that it is NOT for eating. :) Anyways..........I put gel in her hair and it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Puppet Show

This last weekend Dude was being very secretive in his room and came out requesting tape. I asked him what he needed it for and he told me it was a surprise. A little while later he came out and said that he was putting on a puppet show. He had pulled out the noodles from a home-made shaker and created this puppet. Watch out Pinocchio here comes Dude.

That'll be one pacifier, please...

When Dude was barely 2, he got strep throat and no longer wanted his pacifier. Simple. When Princess was almost two she bit a hole in hers and didn't want it any more. Easy. Then along came Honey Bunch. She had strep throat and still wanted hers. She's bitten holes in three of them and kept right on sucking until I bought new ones out of fear of bacteria. A couple of weeks ago we spent an hour searching for a missing binky and decided it was time to move on. We told Honey Bunch that she could buy anything she wanted at the store, but she had to pay for it with her binky. She was so excited and ran to get her beloved pacifier and raced to the car. We got to the store and she carefully studied every toy. She finally decided on a Dora chair. She happily gave her binky to the cashier (a super nice lady, by the way) and away we went with her new chair. She only cried herself to sleep (amongst shouts of her hating her new chair) for three nights. We are 2 1/2 weeks binky free! Hooray! We'll see what two more years brings with Megaman.

My Little Artist

Princess is quite the artist. She was coloring in a coloring book that Grandma bought at the circus when she was visiting and I took a picture of it to share. She drew the lines on the popcorn all on her own (there weren't any on the original page), and I love the patterns on the clothes. She also drew a mud puddle in the grass because it was muddy when we went to the circus.

Hand Foot and Mouth, YUCK!

Poor Honey Bunch has Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease which seems to be spreading in epidemic proportions around here. She seems to be handling it well, she doesn't complain much, but she looks so miserable. This is a conversation I had with her yesterday:
Me: Do you hurt anywhere?
HB: Yes.
Me: Where do you hurt?
HB: On the couch.

Another funny conversation we had:
HB: Can I put a sticker on your nose?
Me: No.
HB: Can I put a sticker on your ear?
Me: No.
HB: Can I put a sticker on your eye?
Me: No.
HB: Can I put a sticker on your cheek?
Me: No.
HB: Can I put a sticker on your chin?
Me: No.
HB: Can I put a sticker on your other chin?
It's a good thing that she's so cute.

Life's Craziness

So, there must be opposition in all things or else life would be boring, right? Lately, my life has had its fair share of ups and downs and I'm truly grateful for the ups. The real craziness started when Doctor finished his internship and began a course out of state. He is gone during the week and I can't tell you how exciting it is on Friday nights when I get to see him again. Whenever he is gone something always breaks down. This time it was our computer. We had a wicked thunderstorm on Monday night, which isn't unusual for our part of the world. I was getting ready to tuck Dude into bed when we heard the loudest crack of thunder I've ever heard. The house shook and the smoke alarms started beeping. My first thought was that the lightning had struck our house. I freaked out and ran to get our shoes (those who know me well know I don't think straight in stressful moments and I always grab shoes) in order to get out of the house. I looked out the window and saw hail and horizontal rain pounding outside. I said a quick silent prayer that my family would be protected when we ventured outside. When I got to the kitchen to get the shoes, I saw our computer was smoking. I hurried and unplugged it and went to go wake up the girls. As I was walking down the hall the alarms stopped beeping. I turned on the T.V. and there was a tornado warning for our area. Great. I began the many frantic calls to my husband who wasn't answering his phone. (He now knows to keep his phone on his person at all times. ;) ) I won't bore you with the rest of the details of the evening/night except for to say that we were protected from the storm and only lost our computer and a rose bush. So that was a downer and an upper all in one. My father-in-law was so gracious and sent us a new computer which amazingly enough arrived yesterday afternoon. After hooking up the new computer I realized it was dinner time and had forgotten to prepare something. Don't judge me, I've got 4 kids and one of them is a newborn. Anyways I piled the kids into the car to go to Burger King. They always want to stay and play on the playground, but I more times than not tell them no and bring it home. Well, today I was feeling brave and told them we could stay. After we got our food we walked to the playground and in a bit of irony it was closed for repairs. So, we went to the park. We got home and Honey Bunch was shivering. Hum, that's not normal in the summer. She had a fever of 103 degrees. And our doctor is out of state. After a long night of Honey Bunch acting crazy and singing Old McDonald at the top of her lungs for the majority of it, I called Doctor this morning to see if I should take her in. I hear, "A guy pulled in front of me. " And then the call was disconnected. I tried calling back to no avail. After about 15 minutes of me thinking the worst, Doctor called back and said that he had been in a car accident. A guy pulled out in an F-150 truck and hit him. The car will probably need a new hood and headlight, but he is ok. The up in this story is that he is alright and should still be able to come home tomorrow. All in all things are pretty alright. :)

New Megaman video/pics

This weekend I took some new video of our little Megaman. He's adorable on the video and even more adorable in person.

We also got a couple cute pictures.

He had been fussy and Dad was having a hard time with him when Honey Bunch (who looks like an orphan child thanks to her many hours in the backyard) asked to hold him. As soon as she was holding him, he calmed down and fell asleep. Thank goodness for big sisters.

What do you remember?

My sister-in-law had this posted on her blog and I thought it would be fun to see what memories you all have.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if we’ve actually met in person or not, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

eeny-meeny miny mo

Tonight the kids and I were playing a matching game. When it was Honey Bunch's turn, she began pointing back and forth between two cards and said, "Eeny-meeny miny mo, catch a tiger by its toe, my mom told me no more monkey's jumping on the bed!"

Synchronized Sleeping

The other day I got up to feed Megaman and when I went back to bed, I saw this.

It was hilarious that they had not only both sneaked in, but they were in the exact same position. Too funny.

Two Months Already!

Megaman had his two month appointment last Monday. Here are the stats:

Weight: 11 lbs 6 oz (1 lb shy of doubling his birth weight)
Height: 22 1/2" (The hospital measures head to toe but the dr office measures head to heel, so he's grown 4 inches!)
Head circumference 14"

I took this video a week ago and he's grown a ton since then. He smiles all the time and coos, especially at the older kids. I'll try to post something more recent soon.

New Agent Plane

Dude is a member of the lego club and gets a lego magazine every couple of months. In the most recent issue there was an advertisement inviting club members to design an air vehicle for their new secret agent lego guy. Dude read about it and immediately began drawing plans for his vehicle. He finished it today. The perfect airplane for a secret agent, I think.

Blessing Day

We blessed Megaman today and it was really nice. We tried taking pictures but he made it very clear that he did not want his picture taken. We did get one good one.

This is pretty typical of how the rest looked.

New Do

Doctor was giving Dude a haircut this morning and Princess asked if she could get a haircut too. Doctor agreed to and I thought he would give her a little trim. When I peeked in the bathroom I gasped. I saw about 6 inches of hair on the ground. As I've mentioned before I am emotionally attached to Princess' hair. I cried, but Princess loves it. I'll admit, though, that she does look cute.

Meet Fuzzy

For some reason we have millions of caterpillars in our backyard this summer. Our theory is that in an effort to rid ourselves of a dirty no good mole we've been spraying the lawn with an insect killer. The birds, and the mole (thank goodness) no longer hang out in our yard because there is nothing to eat. Well, the caterpillars are doing very well. The kids love them and Dude has a "pet" caterpillar he named Fuzzy.

Bye-Bye Internship!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Internship is finally over!!! Doctor worked a total of 3,081 hours (approx. 70 hrs a week), had 68 in-house (overnight at the hospital) call nights, 60 surgery call days/nights (from home), received the Intern of the Year award, performed his first breast augmentation (yeah, you read it right), delivered his son and did the circumcision, and a whole lot more. He is so amazing, I'm overwhelmed just typing about it. Here is what he looked like the last day. He had been at the hospital all night the night before and finally came home at 3:30 pm. If he looks exhausted, its because he was.

We're finally on the down hill slide. Here's to the next 4 years!

Getting Big!

Megaman is growing like a weed! A little width wise and a lot length wise. He is skinny, yet so tall! He's a little over 10lbs (4lbs more than when he was born). He's outgrown his 0-3 month clothes (mostly because he is so tall). He's smiling a little now and sleeping around 6 hrs at night. He's still rolling around and jabbering. He LOVES the bath and his Daddy. Here's a few pics.

In the last picture it looks like he's got the weight of the world on his mind. ;)
