Happy May Day!

The kids and I made May baskets. I don't have a crafty bone in my body, so I'm pretty impressed with the final result. Princess collects the landscaping catalogs that Doctor gets in the mail. When we used them to cut out flower pictures she announced, "You all need to say thank you to me for letting you use my pictures." So, thank you Princess. :) We had fun making them and even more delivering them. Watching the kids try to be stealthy was hilarious. I wish I had a video camera with me to capture it. Dude told me he learned his sneaky skills in Ninja class.

More house pics!

They framed some of the upstairs today, hooray!

Mystery Solved

If you were curious about the origins of the "swine flu", wonder no more.
If asked to do something she'd rather not, my dear mother is often heard saying, "I'd rather kiss a pig with the flu." Now, I admit that I didn't ever realize as a child that pigs really got the flu. Well, we all know now that they do. Now, her referring to smooching sick oinkers isn't the only incriminating evidence. She also traveled to.....gasp.....Mexico recently. Say it isn't so!!! Is it possible that during her vacation she was asked to do something she didn't find appealing? Could she have actually chosen to kiss a pig with the flu? Well, I'll leave that to you to decide. By the way, did I mention she suffered all last week with a terrible sore throat? :)

Kid Comedy, Again!

*When I asked Princess about her day at school, she said, "Oh, mom, it was crazy! At circle time Sarah, Jayden, Hallie, Avery, Anessa, Audrey and Kiersten were all like, 'come here, Princess and sit by me!' And I was like, 'Girls, girls, its ok, you can all sit by me.' That made them all happy."

*Princess' best friend rides home with us from school. He's a great kid, we are going to miss him terribly when he moves this summer. He and Dude, though, have always had a rough time getting along. Yesterday they had this conversation:
J: Hey, Dude, you know how we always fight?
Dude: How?
J: Well, I don't know how, I just know that we do.
Dude: Ok....
J: Well, I was kinda thinking that we could try to be friends.
Dude: You want to be friends with me?
J: Yeah!
Man, we are gonna miss ya, Jack! (And your family, too!)

Progress

Our house is starting to take shape, hooray for good weather!

On the hunt....

Dad was home this last weekend and was able to go to an Easter Egg Hunt with us. This is the best photo of him with the kids. Seriously.
Megaman was adorable with the eggs, and it didn't take him long to figure out how to open them and try to eat the candy.

Honey Bunch and Princess found their quota of ten pretty quickly, so Princess helped Megaman find some. There was a little boy about 18mos that kept following HB around and putting eggs in her basket. It was super cute.

I don't have any pics of Dude looking for eggs because he ran into the woods, and I had to hunt him down. Apparently he was following some deer tracks. :) We had fun, and the best part was having our Dad home to enjoy it with us!

What a beautiful driveway!

We got our driveway today! And I have to say that I enjoyed getting this driveway way more than the one at our current house. :) That is a whole other post for another day. Anyways, Not the best picture, but you get the point.

Kid Comedy

Megaman - The other day we went to the bank and the kids got suckers. Princess doesn't like candy, (crazy, I know) so she left hers on the table. Apparently, MM can reach now. Doesn't he look so proud of himself for getting the wrapper off? I didn't have the heart to take it away so he enjoyed every last lick.

Honey Bunch - We went to a get together at the church when a sweet lady came up to us and said, "Did you have a good time, sugar?" HB gave her a disgusted look and said, "My name is Honey Bunch, not sugar!" (Her real name was actually used)

The kids were drinking milk with lunch when HB asked, "Hey guys, do I have a milk mess-tash?

Princess - This is a conversation we had while she was telling me a story:

P - It was so funny, I was like, how did you do that?

Me - What did she say?

P -Huh?

Me - What did she say when you asked how she did it?

P - I don't know, I was just like that.

Dude - Tonight I told the kids that if they helped clean the house spotless I had a surprise for them. I overheard Dude say this, "I hope the surprise isn't mom's appreciation!" What a goof. They got to rent a movie, and they had mom's appreciation also. :)
