I was flipping through a magazine and saw an idea for spider pumpkins. You get a mini pumpkin, some pipe cleaners and some googly eyes. Voila! Spider pumpkins. Easy, no fail crafts are right up my alley. So I bought the supplies and made one for an example. What happened next is a glimpse into my children's personalities.
Here is mine:
Dude followed the example pretty closely, but he needed bigger scarier looking legs. He also chose to have 6 legs instead of 8.
Megaman tried to follow the example perfectly. He even chose the same colors for his pipe cleaners that I did. He did want some extras, though, like hair, a smile, and cheeks because his sisters both had faces on theirs. And the eyes needed to be slanted because that is how his brother did his.
Honey Bunch didn't want to make a spider. She doesn't like spiders, she likes cats. So she made some ears and a tail and she drew a cat face complete with whiskers. (Hard to see in the picture, but they are there.)
Then she made a cardboard robot, and a foam fish.
Princess decided that a spider was much too simple. She decided to make a witch instead. She made a foam hat, used yarn to make hair and made a broom. For the broom she used cardboard and hay.
When she saw me taking pictures, she requested one with broom on the side, and one with the witch riding the broom, so here you go.
